memory lane: the proposal

*NOTE: pine cove will be mentioned many times. God used it to play an influential role in both our lives and our love story.

THE PROPOSAL- A story

Lauren and Cameron. They met through Pine Cove Christian Camp, in Tyler, Texas, in the summer of 2009.  It was Cameron's third year and Lauren's first year.  After serving alongside one another for six weeks, they parted ways, but not for long!  Cameron called her his first weekend off and the rest is history :).
Christmas Season 2009, Cameron and Lauren (or should I say, Sully and Jiffy) returned to the Bluffs to serve at the New Year Conference. Right at midnight, Sully thoughtfully shared his heart with Jiff and for the first time he said some precious words. "I love you." Once her heart started beating again and she finally caught her breath, she returned the same three words.
Summer of 2010, at the end of camp during the final staff meeting Cameron spoke to the group about implementing what was learned at camp to the "real world".  Then he smoothly transitioned into proposing to Lauren in front of staff, best friends, and family who were hiding in the room upstairs.
It was a celebration! They were engaged! Exciting things were to come...

we're moving!

that's right.

the first of january, cam and i will be making our way to the big D.

as most of you know, cam has been traveling for work every week since we got married (yuck).  i do not doubt for one second the purposes the Lord had behind that. He has taught us much! but our desire was to be together. once i got over having "a lack of faith" and viewing the situation as "impossible" (thank you, Lord, for conviction from your Word!), and instead was content yet expectant... yep, He provided! He is just so faithful.

we are excited, because:
1. God answered prayer
2. we will be able to really "do life" together
3. we will be close to (some) family
4. cam will get to do work he enjoys

but it is bittersweet. it is a hard goodbye, because:
1. it is where we lived our first (almost) 6 months of marriage
2. i have a wonderful job teaching precious six-graders and working/serving among great teachers and leadership
3. we LOVE gospel life church
4. the area of new braunfels is fabulous

i am thankful for His blessings the past six months in new braunfels.
i am thankful for His blessing to provide a new adventure for us in dallas.

so, will you pray for us? thank you! we love you all and will keep you posted.
